About

Alexis Nedd is a Brooklyn based writer whose obsession with all things geeky began the moment she heard the broken robotic crackle of an internet connection circa 1996. After graduating from Columbia University with a degree in Anthropology and Psychology, she dubbed herself a “fanthropologist” and began her career as a pop culture writer.

Her writing on the topics of fandom, internet culture, and gaming has appeared on BuzzFeed, Esquire, Cosmopolitan, Elle, and Mashable. She has lent her cultural expertise as a panelist on MTV’s Need To Know, BuzzFeed’s AM2DM, numerous podcasts including Thirst Aid Kit, See Something Say Something, Talk Nerdy To Me, and NPR’s All Things Considered. Alexis also moderated Hulu’s New York Comic-Con 2020 panel for horror anthology show Monsterland and was a panelist at both NYCC 2021 and SDCC 2021. Most recently, Alexis contributed writing to Jordan Minor’s upcoming video game history book VIDEO GAME OF THE YEAR.
